[ ] Enable available emergency alerts and confirm an accessible backup information channel.
[ ] Store at least the three-day water baseline, adapted for people, pets and conditions.
[ ] Check drinking-water container suitability, storage dates, access and handling.
[ ] Keep familiar shelf-stable food for the household's planned reserve and dietary needs.
[ ] Test a manual can opener with the cans and hands that will use it.
[ ] Test a flashlight or headlamp and store compatible batteries or charging equipment.
[ ] Charge the phone power bank and keep a working compatible cable beside it.
[ ] Check radio reception, controls, power options and relevant local broadcast coverage.
[ ] Review medicines, care equipment and refrigerated-drug contingencies with a professional.
[ ] Check first-aid contents, expiry dates, instructions and individual medical arrangements.
[ ] Add soap, personal-care items and appropriate household waste supplies.

[ ] Agree on meeting places, transport, helpers and an alternative if a helper is unavailable.
